A mental health assessment provides a safe, supportive space to explore the difficulties you're experiencing, gain a clearer understanding of what may be contributing to them, and discuss the most appropriate next steps.

Your assessment includes:

A comprehensive clinical interview exploring your current concerns.

Discussion of your mental health history, relationships, work or education, and day-to-day functioning.

Every assessment is tailored to your individual circumstances rather than following a rigid checklist.
This assessment may be suitable if you:

We'll spend time understanding:

There is no pressure to have all the answers, and you can take breaks if needed.
At the end of the appointment we'll discuss our findings together and agree the most appropriate next steps.

There is no obligation to continue therapy with Mental-Health4U following your assessment.
This assessment is not:

a psychiatric diagnosis
-
a medico-legal assessment
-
an assessment for medication
-
an emergency or crisis service
-
a replacement for NHS psychiatric services where these are required.

If your needs would be better met elsewhere, we'll always discuss the most appropriate service for you.

If you've been wondering whether ADHD may explain some of the challenges you or your child/young person have experienced throughout your/their life, a pre-assessment can help provide greater clarity before pursuing a formal diagnostic assessment.
